THE ABOVE PICTURES ARE OF A 1956 FORD MAINLINE THE STOCK STEERING COLUMN AND SHIFTER TUBE WERE SHORTENED TO ACHIVE THE CORRECT ANGLE FOR THE UPPER AND LOWER U-JOINTS AND STEERING SHAFT. NOTE THAT THE STOCK NUETRAL SAFETY SWITCH HAS BEEN RETAINED! THIS INSTALL WAS DONE WITH THE CAR ON JACK STANDS AND THE ENGINE IN THE CAR. THE INSTALL WAS DONE ON 06/30/2010 | THE PICTURES BELOW ARE OF A 1956 MERCURY WITH A 390 FORD F.E. ENGINE WITH COBRA JET HEADS. THE LEFT HEAD WAS REMOVED AND MODIFIED TO USE THE EARLY STYLE EXHAUST MANIFOLD TO CLEAR THE LOWER U-JOINT. THE FRAME IS THE SAME AS THE FORDS BUT THE FIRE WALL IS OUT TWO INCHES MORE THAN THE FORD FIRE WALL. THIS INSTALLATION WAS DONE IN THE SUMMER OF 2009 |

390 WITH COBRA JET HEADS-EXHAUST MANIFOLDS DO NOT WORK SINCE THE OWNER WANTED TO KEEP THESE HEADS I PULLED THEM AND DRILLED AND TAPPED THE HEADS FOR THE OLD STYLE EXHAUST BOLT PATTERN. | I PAINTED THE EXHAUST RED SO YOU COULD SEE IT BETTER IN THE PICTURE. THIS MANIFOLD IS FROM FORD AND MERC FULL SIZE CARS FROM 60-64 AND SOME TRUCKS INTO THE 70'S. AS YOU CAN SEE THIS MANIFOLD HAS A LOT OF CLEARENCE FROM THE STEERING SHAFT. |
